White Ribbon Alliance is making the demands of girls and women heard by a global audience in an unprecedented participatory photo-project during the UNGA in New York.

The ‘WOMEN ARE WATCHING’ series of images and stories have been created by grassroots girls and women action networks from across Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda, using a powerful ‘eye’ motif. Each image features a woman voicing what she wants for her reproductive, maternal and newborn health against a backdrop created by an artist from each country.

The portraits will be on display in each country in the week leading up to the UNGA, so that policy makers and other decision makers know they will be held accountable by women at grassroots, subnational to national level, before traveling to New York for inclusion in high profile dialogues on accountability for commitments made to girls and women.
